Unity Academy were delighted to welcome representatives from the British Army into our school today.

Earlier this morning, the Army Engagement Group spoke to our Year 9 and Year 10 students about the British Army.

Their aim was to inform our students and give them a greater understanding of the British Army through a powerful, multi-media presentation, before giving them a chance to meet and question some of the soldiers.

The presentation included a look at the role of the British Army, how it functions, training and its future role.

The soldiers stressed the importance of achieving in school, in order to increase the chance of success.

They said: "There are 144 different roles within the Army in which a huge range of qualifications and grades are required to progress"

"Therefore it is absolutely vital you give it your all throughout school, and in your GCSE exams"

Following the presentation, the soldiers answered various questions put to them by our students.
