Unity has achieved its highest ever GCSE mathematics results.

Unity Academy is celebrating the culmination of another great year as a sponsored Academy. As Blackpool’s only all-through Academy providing education from Nursery to year 11, it has achieved its highest ever GCSE mathematics results.

Principal of Unity Academy Stephen Cooke said, "We are very proud of the hard work and efforts displayed by all our students in recent examinations.  They have shown tremendous resilience in the face of new and more challenging examinations and we are proud of the results they have achieved. We have had some fantastic individual successes as well as our best ever mathematics results. We wish our students all the very best for the future."

Of the many delighted students Tamzin Akponwei had lots to celebrate having achieved 5A*s, 6As and 1B.  Also celebrating was Leah Mitchell who was awarded a grade 9 in English literature, the new grade given for exceptional performance. Leah achieved 5A*, 4As and 3 Bs.
