It was the very first day of term, often a scary and daunting time for all students moving up to secondary school. To help put nervous students at ease and as part of the recently introduced HeadStart programme across Blackpool, our new Year 7 students were treated to a very special perfomance of 2engage's theatre show.
‘Moving Up’ is the latest theatrical creation by 2engage Performing Arts. It follows the journey of Chris and Sophie, two primary school leavers who are about to embark on the next step and move up to high school. Using an engaging mix of comical characters and a number of classic transition scenarios, audiences come head to head with the truth about going to secondary school. Making friends, first impressions, bullying and getting lost are all creatively addressed throughout this 40 minute theatre production.
This highly entertaining show goes out to settle some of those anxious feelings we all had when starting high school, as well as dispelling some of those classic myths along the way.
