Child Development

This course is designed for students who intend to work with, or have an interest in, children up to the age of 5.  Our students develop an understanding of the overall needs of young children and the social and environmental influences which affect their development in a contemporary, changing and multicultural society.

Our students will cover five different areas of study which are parenthood, pregnancy, diet, health and care of the child, child development and support for parents and children.

The course is designed to be all inclusive, with the possibility of taking home a ‘living doll’ for the weekend to experience the realities of having a baby!

This KS4 course helps candidates to develop an understanding of the overall needs of young children and the social and environmental influences which affect their development in a contemporary, changing and multicultural society.
