The themes running through PD (Personal Development) whether in discrete lessons or during super learning days, are about supporting our young people in making their own, informed choices. Our curriculum:

  • Views the student as a developing adult who should have the information and confidence to make their own decisions about life
  • Enables students to consider their own attitudes and values and those of other people
  • Provides comprehensive, unbiased and correct information
  • Promotes students' self-esteem as the key to making the right choice, raising their aspirations for all areas of their life.
  • Develops students’' personal and social skills
  • Encourages students to see their place in their community, from the school we belong to their part in the global picture.
  • Is part of a whole school approach whereby the way students are treated reinforces the messages conveyed in the PD lessons.

Our Personal and Relationships Education is supported by the student health worker and the Youth Worker team.
