Welcome To The Nursery
We are a 46 place nursery that provides high quality childcare and education for children aged between 0 to 5 years all year round.
We are open all year from 8am to 6pm. We offer flexible sessions which include full day care and we also offer the Nursery Education sessions for children the term after third birthday.
These sessions are 9am to 12pm or 1pm to 4pm for a maximum of 5 sessions a week for 38 weeks per year.
All our staff are qualified Early Years Practitioners and we are extremely fortunate to have a Lead Practitioner (Early Years Teacher) who leads the practice in the nursery working with children and staff.
The indoor and outdoor environments are secure, safe, welcoming and stimulating for all children of the age groups. All babies and children are given the opportunity to access well planned and purposeful activities with appropriate intervention by practitioners.
Bringing your child to nursery for the very first time can be quite a big step for all of you. Your child may feel uneasy about meeting new children or in fact leaving the family home and own surroundings. To help them to settle into the nursery, talk about the nursery in a positive and happy way to make them feel more comfortable.
All the staff in our nursery fully understand that it is also a big step for the parents to leave their children in the care of someone else. We have an open door policy where all parents are welcome to share any anxieties or concerns they may have.
The settling in process consists initially of two one hour sessions. In the first session the parent completes the relevant information forms with the Officer in Charge.
The second session is an opportunity for the child to be left alone in the nursery while the key person completes a parent consultation document with the parents. This helps us get to know your child’s interests and skills and helps us plan activities. If the child is still unsettled then there is scope for further sessions if it is felt that the child or parent needs them.
