On the very wintery evening of Tuesday 7th December, Unity College held their first ever Christmas Fayre. A truly all-through event stalls were held by our Nursery, Primary and Secondary students, plus some extras from members of the community, including our own Headmasters Salon.

The fayre was opened by two Premiership players, Alex Baptiste and Stephen Husband plus our very own Father Christmas was in residence!

We even had a skating rink provided specially for the event!

The stalls included an incredible range of creativity and innovative flair from all of our students. Ideas ranged from Santa’s magic keys, reindeer dust and mince pies to handmade baubles and tree decorations. Other enterprising groups of students arranged traditional festive games, tombolas and raffles.

The event raised over £1000, and the funds raised will be used to support the development of the outdoor learning and recreation space at Unity College, and student focus groups will be held in near future to plan these developments.

A donation will also be made to the Trust fund set up by Blackpool Football Club to support their Youth Team coach Gary Parkinson who recently suffered a stroke.
A fantastic night was had by all; many thanks go to all the students and supporting staff who made the event possible, to all our families and members of the local community for coming along to support us, and to Jackie Bovill – event coordinator for the fayre.
