Blackpool Youth Games Review

It all started off with the Unity College year 2s. It was the first lesson that the year 10s were teaching. After previous lessons working up and practising to do this all the skills developed were going to be put into practise. We had 4 stations set up with 2 leaders per group. There were 2 lessons being done either side of lunch. The following Monday was a trip to Claremont primary to teach a tricky year 3 class.

The first lesson at Unity went well with an even better performance from the lads in the second one in the afternoon. Some fantastic handling meant that there were no incidents or naughty behaviour from the younger ones. The groups of children were not very big therefore we managed it all quite easy. The real test came the following week when the lads made the short journey to Claremont Primary for what we realised a big test of improvisation. Due to there being a Christmas show we were forced into using the smaller of the 2 halls. We accepted but when we got there it was a lot smaller than everyone expected meaning we had to set up the warm up and cool downs whilst there was no stations in place. The final surprise was that there was going to be 30 children 10 more than we were used to. A big thanks to the following lads for participating: Ben Atkinson, Luke Hubber, Liam Horrobin, Mathew Jones, Josh Jones, Rob Cousins, Jamie Marshall, Otis Lewis-Chambers and Sam Heaney.
The biggest thank you to Marii and Mr Barnes for making this possible.
