Rock Climbing

As we set off on our 3rd Summitreks trip we enjoyed a little excursion to Holker Hall where we were given an excellent tour of the gardens and told all the history of the famous old building and its surroundings. We were also shown the Ice Bunker which was used to store ice before electricity.

We arrived at Summitreks 1.30pm and followed the instructors upto the wall we would be climbing which was called Scout Scar above New Dungeon Ghyll.

This activity required patience, trust, communication and great skill which all of the boys proved they had and in the most challenging activity to date they were a credit to themselves and the School.

Climber of the day was definitely Bradley Ashe who managed to conquer 2 out of the 3 climbs despite being 30cm shorter than everyone else!!
