Fairtrade in the Primary

On Wednesday 1st December Kira, Chloe, Kirsty, Adam and I (Courtney) spent an hour working with the Year 2 classes. We were telling them about Fairtrade and the things we do as Fairtrade Fairies (and our Princes)

We showed the class a powerpoint about what Fairtrade means and where they can see the Fairtrade symbol and products.

The Year 2s were all very enthusiastic. At the beginning they really didn’t know much about Fairtrade products, but by the end they understood the most important things.

We had a competition where the Year 2s had to design their own symbol. The winners took home a special recycled holographic folder.

Some of the Year 2s then helped us with our stall at the Christmas Fair selling our lovely fairtrade goodies, ideal for Christmas stocking fillers.

Well Done Year 2 and thank you to their teachers for letting us come in an being so supportive.
