Beacon Achieves Best Exam Results Ever
Unity College Blackpool is celebrating today with the best ever examination results in the history of the school with 45% of pupils achieving 5A*-C, an improvement of 19% on last year’s results.
Head teacher Barbara Lund said, “We are delighted for all our students who have done so well. The improvement is a result of tremendous commitment from our young people and from the staff as a whole. We are very proud of all of them.
“The school has undergone many changes in the last few years and we are now seeing the impact of everyone’s hard work.”
One pupil in particular with a great deal to celebrate is 16 year old Luke Wilks. Sports captain Luke achieved 8A* grades, one A and one B. Achievement Coordinator Anthony Wood said, “Luke thoroughly deserves his results. He has been an outstanding pupil for the full five years he has been here.”
