Year 11 Boy's Basketball Success

Improving on such an impressive season seems like a difficult task to do, but not to this year’s year 11 boy’s basketball team.

This group of seven boys accomplished what seemed impossible, and along with gaining more knowledge and passion for the game, they won the Blackpool School’s Under 16 Basketball League. Strong performances from all players lead to blow-out wins over teams like Bispham, Montgomery and Collegiate in the North Division sending Beacon Hill through to the semi finals. Then a forfeit from the St. George’s team confirmed Beacon Hill’s place in the final against a tough Montgomery side looking for a different result from their first match-up of the season. The dominant Beacon side, comprising of the captain Jermaine Lewis-Chambers, Grant Murray, Jordan Ceesay, Steven Mainds, Tom Wickenden, Max Bailey and Curtis Thompson, again came out on top of this match-up against Montgomery ending in a 55-29 win to Beacon Hill. Much appreciation to Mr. Barnes and the rest of the P.E staff to help make this years team a success.
