Visit to Lancaster University
This month students from year 10 went on a campus visit to Lancaster University. They took part in 3 workshops and a tour. The workshops included Terminology – finding out about Uni words, as sometimes they seem a whole new language! The second workshop was Uni and U, this was where pupils found out all about student life. Next we had a tour of campus and had a look in the student accommodation, including a flat shared by 5 students! Our last workshop was Finance blockbusters; here we looked at financial support for students and budgeting. The day was enjoyed by all and hopefully some of the myths around attending university were displaced.

R.A.F event
Students from year 10 took part in sessions led by the RAF Motivational Outreach Team. The sessions included a range of activities that focused on teamwork, leadership, problem solving and communication skills. The sessions were fun but informative and students will be able to transfer their learning back into real life situations.
