Once upon a time in ICT
Our year 2 students have been studying fairy tales as part of their literacy curriculum. They have then produced their own version of their favourite fairy tale with some character twists.
To see their stories in a modern, exciting, interactive way, the year 2’s enlisted the help of our year 10 students to help them turn their storyboard drawings and text into a multimedia story with images, animation colours and sound.
The year 2’s drawings and ideas were turned into magical, animated fairy-tales with the year 10’s fantastic computer skills. Both sets of pupils worked exceptionally well together. The year 2 students were very specific about their requirements including what font style/colour, background colour and animation they wanted. The year 10’s found working for a demanding client challenging and fun.
The session also helped the year 10 students understand the educational level the year 2 students were working at, and their formatting likes and dislikes which will aid them immensely when they will be required to design an effective product for a young audience in their own upcoming coursework task.
