Religious Education

Religious Education is part of the core of the National Curriculum. At Beacon Hill pupils have one hour of Religious Education every week - a time to expand their knowledge of the world around and the world inside their head.

RE helps pupils to understand the world in which they live - both in the UK and around the world millions of people practice a religion.

Into Key Stage 4 RE still remains a part of the core curriculum. All pupils will take a GCSE in RE (short course) which examines important ethical, social and philosophical issues from a religious and a non-religious viewpoint. Pupils are encouraged to take part in discussions and to develop thier own ideas and opinions.
