In art we want to encourage pupils to learn about a wide variety of artwork and artists. We want pupils to experience various ways of producing artwork of their own, and to encourage them to work in groups and to produce work of different sizes. Above all, we want pupils to enjoy themselves in a safe and pleasant environment and always work to the best of their ability.

GCSE

Art & Design GCSE is a single grade course where pupils are awarded 1 GCSE upon its completion. Over the two year course pupils cover a variety of methods and techniques whilst completing 4 separate projects: Object observation, Self portraiture, Landscape and Personal theme. Pupils will be encouraged to develop their own style by looking at the work of other artists and craftspeople. There will also be the requirement to produce a final piece of work under exam conditions.
