Barrio Fiesta August 2010

Fairtrade Fairytale were delighted to be invited to the Filipino-British Lancashire Association UK (Blackpool)’s 2ndBarrio Fiesta in Stanley Park at the beginning of the summer holidays. The working theme was  Race Equality and the event was supported by the Race Equality Forum.

We took along loads of fairly traded goodies and although we didn’t sell very much we had a good day out.

At the Fiesta there were acts performing traditional Filipino dances as well as modern styles. There was fabulous food and great music. It gave the people of Blackpool and beyond a chance to experience Filipino culture as well as share their own. We look forward to next year’s being even more successful and enjoyable.
